After 2 flights and a 3 hour bus drive, the Val Thorens Resort in the French Alps welcomed us. Skhumba tells us about his first flight that was longer than 2 hours. We get kitted in our ski gear, and Skhumba hands out African names to everyone.
An eventful day with Skhumba taking his first ski lesson. The rest of the group headed up to bigger slope territory. Of course, Skhumba couldn't forget our President's birthday.
The group went "toboggan-ing". In other words, sledding down the slopes while sitting down on a plastic sled. It turned out to be an exhilarating rush and a fun day was had.
A relaxing day was had with everyone going out into the streets of the resort. We stumbled upon a local market, where Skhumba met some interesting locals.
We decided to take things easy bu taking a ride through the slopes on snowmobiles. A relaxed and peaceful ride on the mountains complimented the beautiful views.
